ABC Wednesday - F

Wednesday has come round really quick!! Anyway, this week's letter is F for Fundraising.

My eldest daughter, Jedi, (for those of you who don't know) has a passion for Greyhounds and for raising awareness of their plight. Along with this comes the need to raise money to help rehome and reabilitate ex-racing Greyhounds. To find out how this passion started please read my previous post.

Anyway, once again she has the urge to Fundraise. This time she is planning a sponsered silence, not any old sponsored silence, but for a whopping 48 HOURS!!! That is quite a feat for an eleven year old!

Greyhound Rescue Wales is her chosen charity, as it is our local Greyhound charity and of course you can't support them all! We are currently waiting for GRW to register with JustGiving.com so we can make this the biggest and furthest reaching fundraising effort yet. So if you would be interested in sponsering Jedi, and helping abandoned, ill-treated or just plain unwanted Greyhounds wherever you are, please keep an eye out for a future post (hopefully within the next week) which will give details on how to find her JustGiving page. Or leave a request in the comments and I will notify you when we have the information.

Remember, this is all off the back of an eleven year old with a very big heart, nothing to do with me, I'm just the skivvy!! Please show your support, not just for the Greyhounds but for a wonderful little girl who has the want and determination to do something bigger with her time and energy.

Very sweet. Do you have a paypal account?

Let me know when you have GRW upon the JustGiving site and I'll join in! But you knew I would! :)

Wil, thank you.

Life with Kaishon, yes I do, but wouldn't know how to go about it. It maybe easier to wait for the JustGiving page. Thank you so much for your interest.

Jay, yes I did know I could count on you. x

Your daughter is very thoughtful and loving for her age. May these attributes continue as she grows older. I wish her great success with her fundraising.

Several years ago, my son and his wife adopted a "retired" racing greyhound named Hope; they extended her life by many years, I'm sure. She passed away last year, and we all miss her. She was a very, very sweet dog.

Thanks for your visit to my ABC.

That IS quite a feat for an eleven year old! I would love to sponsor her - as much because I am impressed by such a big heart and so much determination in such a young girl, as because it is a good cause. It sounds like you have an amazing daughter. Please let me know when you're all set up :)

Actually I meant to check the "email follow-up comments" box in case it's easier for you to let people know with a comment here. So I'm back for that..

Plus a lovely greyhound picture she may not have seen before!

Rinkly Rimes, Jedi loves poetry! She will be very touched, I will make sure she sees it. Thank you.

Wow, Jedi sounds like quite the spirited big-hearted little angel! Good luck to you all. Thanks for your comment on my blog - I'm not much of a comment-leaver nowadays either but I'll still be reading. See you soon. x

That is a major commitment for a eleven year old! Don't think I could manage that and I am certainly not eleven :) Great post - wish her luck!

Well done, jedi. I'll sponsor, and I have a friend who has 2 rehomed greyhounds so I'll mention it to her. (But she doesn't have a lot of money!)

That really is a great characteristic in a child, wanting to help others. You must be teaching your little girl all the right things to foster her gentle, loving heart.
